But today? Today it's going to be 80 degrees. I celebrate.
I celebrate by taking a walk on my break at work. I celebrate by wearing a knee-length skirt with butterflies on it that I've had for (literally) 10 years, bare legs, and flats. I celebrate by rolling my windows down, turning the radio up, and singing loudly (and badly) on my way to work. I celebrate by feeling the warmth on the back of my neck while I'm standing outside. I celebrate by smiling at strangers more. I celebrate by taking my time, taking deep breaths, and taking the boys for wagon rides.
Spending evenings at the park.
Grilling out and enjoying a picnic. Going for frozen yogurt at bedtime. We celebrate.

I'm happy. That doesn't mean life is perfect, but it feels pretty damn close right now. I'm happy. My favorite time of year. Time to celebrate!
xo,

Hi there! Just hopped over to your blog and wanted to say hi. I think my Drew is right in between your two boys and I secretly hope that my next will be another boy! I LOVE being a boy-momma. Anyway, where in the midwest do you live? The hubs and I are both from Kansas City and can't WAIT to get back there in a few years. Anyway, love the boy conversations down below and hope you'll stop by to follow back!
ReplyDeletehi Sarah, we live just south of Indianapolis. The boys are hilarious and I can't even imagine life any other way. They share a room - the best!! They are fourteen months apart, my oldest just turned 3 in March and my youngest will be 2 in May. So right now we're in that sweet spot where I can say I have a 1 yr old and a 3 yr old and not get looked at like I'm crazy! Thanks for visiting, I hope you'll come back!
DeleteOMG. I am SO jealous of your warm weather! We're supposed to get 4-6 inches of snow tomorrow! BOO! I think I will have to move where you are! Eek!
ReplyDeletePS. Love that skirt! Too cute!
Thank you!! And yes, BOO to snow!!
Delete<3 Yes, this is the best time of the year!! <3 It's 80* here today too and it is SO wonderful. I just want to sit/be outside and enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it the BEST! We should live close so we could take the babies on walks! :)
DeleteCute skirt! I love all the starts to new seasons. I could not imagine living more south and not having snow every year, or the changing of the leaves, or the joy of re-starting our garden... Okay sorry for my ramble.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have had it for 10 years. I'm a hoarder I guess. I agree...it would be weird to not have the changing seasons. But yesterday I heard that it was our first 80 degree day since mid-September. I should not have to go 7 months without an 80 degree day. A two month winter would be sufficient!
